Donate your chocolate
Seriously, chocolate hearts are for sad people. Ask your significant other to skip on the chocolate this year. Maybe see if he/she will get you a more original Valentine’s Day gift! If not, then maybe give your chocolate to someone who’s spending Valentine’s Day alone. Your other half should be sweet enough, right?
Skip Eating Out
Eating out during Valentine’s Day is a nightmare, anyway. I try to avoid it at all costs and opt for a more romantic night in. Instead of spaghetti, maybe you can make spaghetti squash. Enjoy each other’s company first and focus on what you’re eating second!
Make your own traditions! Instead of giving chocolates or some other sweet treat, how about making something unique and healthy for your significant other?
Like most holidays, if you splurge, it will be okay.
